Thumbs up Re: SOTD: Sunday, 29th November, 2020

Have I told you about the scent of jasmine? Have I spoken about the smell of the sea? The earth is scented. And I perfume myself to enhance what I am. That's why I can not wear a perfume that bothers me. Perfuming is an instinctive wisdom. And like all art, it requires some knowledge of yourself..."

Good morning everyone Today it seems like it is rainy. I sat up late and watched The Queen's gambit. So I forgot to set the alarm to meet my sister She called me and now I'm on my way in Angel. Have a great Sunday everyone

Hello and best to everyone. Paco Rabanne Metal today. I expected this to be in the metallic company of Rive Gauche and Calandre, but IMO the name’s a misnomer. This is a soft, lighthearted green floral. It goes a bit mossy-dry as it dries down but there are no sharp angles anywhere. Lovely stuff.

    Good evening all!

I was so excited, when the artificial xmas tree I had ordered
arrived this morning via amazon Prime, that I forgot to apply any
perfume. We have always had a real tree but this year I just
fancied an easy life and hardly anyone is going to see it anyway.

It took me quite a few hours to unpack it, put it up
(it comes in three parts,) fluff up the branches and decorate it
but it looks fab now and I am sitting beside it having a Bailey's and
    a mince pie.

I will apply some Cinnabar for my SOTE.

Not familiar with it but upon investigation, their podcasts look interesting. I'm glad you mentioned it.

I'm wearing Chanel 31 rue Cambon. The weather is extremely pleasant and mild lately so I can ease up on my heavy gourmands.

Default SOTD: Sunday, 29th November, 2020

    Hi, everyone!

First, let me extend condolences and a hug to (((khanada))). Iím so sorry about your friend.

Belated Happy Birthday wishes to Mike, along with a big ďWelcome to the 5-0!Ē Iím honestly still trying to wrap my head around being 50, but I feel really good and oddly happy, despite 2020 and all of its ... merde.

Itís so nice to see cello again, too. Youíve been missed.

So, I missed most of November. That headache and autumn cold I was starting to feel at the beginning of the month was unfortunately Covid. Overall, my symptoms were relatively mild - a fever for 24 hours, head congestion (no lung or breathing issues). The worst things were about 10 days of utter exhaustion and Covid brain fog (I was seriously stupid for about a week - I just couldnít think clearly) and I lost smell and taste. Completely. Itís about 90% back, but I didnít wear perfume for about 10 days. It was sort of like my smell and taste had been completely overloaded and got scorched out. So my return to fragrance has been almost exclusively woods, citrus, light spices, and MEM - nothing too heavy, no florals at all, and nothing chypre-ish or animalic. Itís been weird. I hope the missing 10% returns. Losing any of my taste and smell permanently would be awful.

Iím almost fully recovered, though, and have been enjoying walking and jogging outdoors. Temps have been in the 30-60s F, which has been great, but Iíd honestly prefer that temps stay in the cooler end of that range. As is typical of Nebraska autumn and winter, weíve had lots of sun along with the inevitable wind. Iím heading outside now for a walk, with my wind layer in place for todayís 20mph gusts.

Iíll be wearing Wood Sage & Sea Salt.

Damp, dreary, and cold here -- definitely dreich. I'm warming it up a little with some original Bottega Veneta EDP. I put a little of yesterday's Jolie Madame on one wrist to compare them, and yes, there's a definite kinship. They feel like similar scents filtered through the aesthetics of two different eras -- with the leather in JM smoothed out and suede-ified in the BV, and the plum softened and sweetened just a little. Quite similar violet accords, though.

ExtremeK, what a nightmare month! Best wishes a full recovery for you soon.
