That's certainly a big part of the problem. Some companies just seem to print out labels and forget all about the actual packages!

IMO, the biggest part of the problem is employee morale, and the rationale of financial benefit of working the same number of hours as they were before. Having dealt with an industry where employees have actually benefited financially from the pandemic because of all sorts of Fed programs, I have seen the adverse affects of giving people money they were not counting on, and then tying it to them working less not more.

Most of the trouble I’ve had with USPS has been due to the ravages of COVID-19 at distribution centers. One outgoing package took months to reach its destination at the height of the first wave. I had one package from Greece take forever to get here—but it did get here. I’d say my packages have been on schedule pretty close to 99% of the time, though. My local mail carriers have been great.

I've now learned when my package is in transit limbo after Grove , it's going someplace else.

I was getting shipments pretty decently up to the stimulus , and I expect that it will resume to normal soon.

The Fedx Smartpost says I should get my package this Friday. 3/26

That's the official word, so at least they'll reimburse you. But unless the box was delivered to the wrong address and the person kept it, it could still turn up.

Half of the time they hang on to the package and deliver it themself with few problems although not problem free concerning FedEx. FedEx in my area uses contract carriers and these contract drivers seem to care less if the package is delivered to the right address.

I've always had great service with FedX .
When I get my packages from Adidas , they come directly from FedX .
This particular package was scheduled to be delivered on 3/25 .
It is still in transit . Limbo .
Today is 4/06.
I chatted with a FedX rep, and he said it is considered lost.
I'll speak with FedX again today . This will make a 3rd attempt.
It's not so much in FedX , as it is with Adidas .
I chatted with them twice concerning this package .
I don't think the customer service reps are well informed about their policies.
They tend to change , even during online chatting .
I'll ask for the case , if needed , to be elevated.
I always get my packages from Adidas in two to 4 days, always .
I think they are just swamped with new reps etc.
I t will be resolved .

With all the bashing that the USPS has taken in this thread, it seemed only fair that I should weigh in with an amazingly good experience I've just had with them.

I had a package due today with signature required, and when the mail carrier passed me by without stopping, I looked at the tracking around 2 p.m. It said "delivered" and showed it was signed for by someone with a name that doesn't exist in my household. Obviously it was misdelivered. I filed on online notice on the USPS website, and within an hour I got a phone call from a friendly and competent-sounding woman from the Post Office saying they would put geo-tracking on it immediately and that I would hear from them within a day.

I was impressed. I'll be even more impressed if they live up to her promise, and get my package to me promptly.

They sent my package back to where they initially sent it incorrectly ,

OK, I got on the chat boxes today with Adidas and FedX .
FedX was a phone call which had me trying to set up a claim .
Adidas took sometime , but they came through .
This time with Adidas , I had what I wanted to chat hand written down ahead of time.
It worked like wonders . I wasn't trying to play catch with live chat , for i had my points and dates all laid out.

Cookbot, I understand the stress the shippers are going through, for I once too had those deadlines to meet.
This is a nice place for us to vent , and get helpful hints from replies.

Yup, these are Agar Aura samples , and they did come from KUALA LUMPUR - MALAYSIA,
but once it hit the US , oh well, it made it back to Cincinnati .

By the way, they're at it again. Package arrived last night in Cincy, should have been delivered today no problem as it's an hour away. And.... for some odd reason, it's now in Lexington, Kentucky, now two-plus hours away.
