USPS Anxiety

I was just looking at samples from Indigo Perfumery, just out of Cleveland ,
and this was pop up .

ALERT: USPS shipping
USPS delivery delays are extreme at this point.
You may want to consider UPS or curbside pickup.

So, I'm gonna get some samples and use USPS to see how long it takes.

Businesses that don't give customers the option of choosing between carriers must really be taking a hit. I'm a cosmetologist (retired, but cut my own and my husband's hair) and need new shears, but the ones I want only ship by USPS and I won't risk it. I'm just one little person - the same scenario must be multiplied many times over by businesses across the country.

I opened a claim on a missing package yesterday, we'll see how that goes.

I actually just got it.
Glad is a was packaged the way it was.
No damage .
I get decants from a couple people here , strifeknot and hanginglimbs .
They do a great job packaging .
Waiting on a couple more packages.

I have only had to open one claim with USPS.
I did eventually get my package , for it was delivered to a wrong address.

I have had packages delivered to my address that were intended for another .
I walked them over to the correct residence .

I shipped one decant from an ebay sale on December 10th. Last scanned in Jersey City about 3 weeks ago. Buyer just opened a case - without messaging me first of course. I've put in a missing mail request with USPS, but I'm sure I'm gonna have to refund this guy his money before that sees any response. Hopefully he will be honest if the package does eventually make it to him

I got a DPD shipping error :

I got an email from my local post office saying they'd received the case number on my missing package claim, and they're "looking into it."

What actually happens, when you report a missing package? How can they possibly find out what happened to it, after so long a time? If it was delivered to the wrong address and the person kept it, what then?

I assume it was insured, it was shipped First Class by FragranceX. But, following the link you kindly provided, I see that I did not actually file a claim, I just opened a missing package complaint. They make things as complicated as they can, don't they? I just now received an infuriating email from the local post office, saying I should wait 10 more days and then file file a claim. The subject line of the email was: Issue Resolved!!! Holy cow. So I replied that my issue was not resolved, and my email bounced back because the postmaster rejected it!

What's most likely happened , is that it's sitting in a Gaylord , amongst other gaylords filled to the brim.
I worked at a startup DHL .
It was before all the tech machine sorters were installed.
We had Gaylords stacked on top of other Gaylords that circled the inner perimeter walls 3 stages deep.
We couldn't get the help to sort the mail, even at time & 1/2 pay.
Sometimes we got paid double time, and the employees still wouldn't want to work .
Seriously.

So, it's just sitting there , in a Gaylord , hopefully.
You should have seen all the massive amount of Barkboxes we had . Massive.
ScentSplits fancy mailers by the TRUCK's full .
You know all the complaints about their delivery time, well that was us.
You couldn't get people to work . Every faction from every work placement we got.
Anyone good , left.
