Now my package isn't even showing up in my USPS Informed Delivery anymore.
    coped&pasted
    Arriving Today Thursday, Jan 14
    No packages available to display.

    Arriving Soon
    No packages available to display.

I have another package that was sent from the UK that I'll have to contend with .
    It's Subtism Heater .
The order was placed on December 10th , sent December 19th.
Nothing yet, and no tracking number.
I wish I knew about the no tracking number.
I would have paid the extra.
    No parcels from FedX today.
Generally, if it was in Grove City, it would have made it to Twinsburg that morning.
I imagine that most are opting for a FedX or USP .

I think I see the problem.
It's states in my recent tracking , that it is in transit and on it's way,
but it doesn't say it departed from Akron.

Marvelous 'toon from Reddit, right on the money.

Our packages are ambling and shambling around somewhere in the system, unscanned and tossed into random bins. I've noticed several times that previous information (like your Informed Delivery notice) just disappears from the tracking page - sometimes it comes back, but often it doesn't. Scanning accuracy seems to be running at about 40-50%.

My FragranceX package info has been updated to show that it's expected to arrive tomorrow. We'll see. In the meantime, my tax document from Social Security showed up, but my husband's didn't. Every previous year, they have been mailed and delivered on the same day, Tax season is going to be a real nightmare, I hope they give all of us more time to file this year, like they did last.

Whoa, not what I would have expected from FedEx! Seems like there are problems across the board with shipping. I must say, international mail has always gotten to me faster than domestic mail - never more than eight days, as near as I can recall. When the USPS flat-out tells customers (as I was told yesterday) to allow 3-4 weeks for delivery of First Class mail - while they continue to charge a higher rate for that service - you know this slowdown is going into overtime.

One thing I noticed today while I was out , was the amount of FedX trucks today.
The main thing I noticed was a second person in the trucks helping with residential delivers.
    That's generally a holiday thing.
That's when it came to me , The Second Stimulus .

Here's the beginning and dates to two USPS packages tracking codes.
The first number was issued yesterday.
    01/13 946+18 0's
    01/05 940+18 0's
Is , that correct . Yup, 22 tracking digits .
That's like an increase of , that can't be correct.
Yup. How do you even express that mathematically ?
At this rate, were going to be on the 23 tracking digits , soon.
    That's unprecedented .
So I guess the new unacknowledged Covid worker is our mail carriers .

Again, happy you got your update.

Thanks, JBS1. I was very surprised to get that tracking info finally, and can't help but think it had something to do with the complaint (not claim, as I originally thought) I filed this week. Well, however it came about, I'll be glad to receive the package.

That tracking digit business is actually scary!

Your package will arrive later than expected, but is still on its way. It is currently in transit to the next facility.
    January 17, 2021, 5:50 pm

    CLEVELAND OH DISTRIBUTION CENTER

    Arrived at USPS Regional Facility
    AKRON OH DISTRIBUTION CENTER
    January 8, 2021, 5:39 pm
    Departed USPS Regional Facility
    SPRINGFIELD MA NETWORK DISTRIBUTION CENTER

The package moved , just after I started an USPS Inquiry on January 15th.
My package has yet to depart from Cleveland.

I have two other packages in the USPS , both perfumes , and the one from MaxAroma ,
which was scheduled to be delivered today , will not be.

My FedX package did arrive . It was supposed to delivered Friday, then Saturday,
It was delivered Sunday in the evening.

In regards to those tracking numbers, they are all different .
The most recent started 900 .
So those numbers , it would seem , aren't the best possible way , for us, to decipher volume.

Bonnet , I hope you got your package.

I am very glad to hear that your FedEx package finally arrived, and that your wayward USPS parcel is at least appearing in the system again! Now fingers are crossed for the other two not to go too far astray.

You know, I do think those inquiries must provide a nudge - although packages can tip in either direction, from there. My package was routed to a city 250 miles away, after arriving within minutes of my door; however, as the error was corrected quickly, and it wouldn't have been delivered yesterday anyway (due to the postal holiday), no harm was done and it's now out for delivery. But there are 5 inches of new snow on the ground, so it will be a race with the shovel.

I would guess it was routed incorrectly (the new normal ) , but it will eventually get to you.

The sad truth is that right now shipping is a lot like 1980. Order and wait 4-6 weeks for delivery. I sent a return to Nordstrom Rack on 1/5 and they claim they still don't have it yet. Tracking shows it hasn't left my hometown, and I know better.

My watch goes from Florida, to Puerto Rico, and then...?

Yes, a lot like 1980! Catalogue payments by snail mail or over the phone, order forms readiing: "Allow two weeks for delivery." And that was actually fast, compared to some of the wait times cited in this thread. Your Nordstrom return is in the "business as usual" category for 2020-21.

It's weird in one way that your watch was sent to Puerto Rico, but in another way, not so much - it's a US territory, and the USPS treats it like a state, with mail handled in exactly the same way as on the mainland. I ordered perfume from a seller in Puerto Rico a couple of years ago, and it got to Colorado in 3 days. So at least the watch being sent to Puerto Rico won't delay it any longer than if it had been sent to, say, Minnesota.

Got all my packages yesterday and today.
I'm really glad that strifeknot and hanginglimbs did such a great job wrapping and boxing everything up.
I would have to agree with Bonnet , a little nudge in the complaints department with USPS goes a long way ,
just like my packages . Illinois , Kentucky etc.
Thanks for starting this thread .
It gives us a chance to vent some, along with learn some.
Hopefully I don't have to revisit soon.

Yay! I'm so glad that all of your errant parcels have been safely delivered. I've got two more en route, but I feel more confident now about their eventual delivery. Yes indeed, this thread has not only allowed us to vent, but to learn what others have experienced, which has been reassuring. The OP has my thanks, as well!

USPS . Changing their delivery services .
Postmaster General Louis DeJoy is preparing to put all first-class mail onto a single delivery track, according to two people briefed on his strategic plan for the U.S. Postal Service, a move that would mean slower and more costly delivery for both consumers and commercial mailers.

DeJoy, with the backing of the agency’s bipartisan but Trump-appointed governing board, has discussed plans to eliminate a tier of first-class mail — letters, bills and other envelope-sized correspondence sent to a local address — designated for delivery in two days. Instead, all first-class mail would be lumped into the same three- to five-day window, the current benchmark for nonlocal mail.

That class of mail is already struggling; only 38 percent was delivered on time at the end of 2020, the Postal Service reported in federal court. Customers have reported bills being held up, and holiday cards and packages still in transit. Pharmacies and prescription benefits managers have told patients to request medication refills early to leave additional time for mail delays. The agency has not disclosed on-time scores yet in 2021.

Man, oh man. This guy has no shame. Yet I doubt that replacing him is a top priority in Washington. Only 38% of first class mail delivered on time - disgraceful.

The claim: Postmaster General Louis DeJoy has $70 million invested in companies that compete with the United States Postal Service

    Mmmh !

The average pay for a Postmaster General is $82,360.00.
    WHAAAT ?

    Well, I don't know.

Well, now we know at least why there's no incentive .
If I remember correctly , didn't online ordering go up with the crises.
(Reuters) - Walmart Inc WMT.N posted its biggest-ever growth in online sales on Tuesday as shoppers cashed in stimulus checks and ordered everything from electronics and toys to groceries from the safety of their homes amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

    Let's look at something else.
    FedX
The COVID-19 pandemic has created record-breaking shipment volumes. As more people shop online to avoid crowds in stores, those numbers have grown even more. This has created shipping volumes that are taxing logistics networks nationwide, which may cause delays.

18% of consumers have tried curbside pickup for the first time over the COVID-19 period (Narvar)
36% of consumers have experienced substantial shipping delays due to COVID-19 (Narvar)
Ecommerce sales are forecasted to have increased 32.4% in 2020 with brick-and-mortar forecasted to fall 3.2% (eMarketer)
Best Buy saw the largest YoY ecommerce sales growth in 2020 (105.5%), followed by Target (103.5%) and Kroger (79.2%) (eMarketer)

It's insane, all of it. And not only here - this morning in the Daily Mail, I read an article saying that undelivered holiday packages are turning up on eBay and other auction sites!

    WHAT ?
Well a thank you for that prompt to elevate my USPS inquiry .

    It's about Royal Mail .

Yup, this might explain why I never received my Subtisim heater from HeavenScent72 on Etsy.
I ordered it on December 10, shipped December 19th. I still haven't received it.
I did open a case February 12th, and also asked for my money to be refunded February 7th.
I haven't heard back from the seller yet. He has till the 16th of this month to respond ,
then it will be escalated .
The shipment was to come via Royal Mail UK.

Perhaps there'll be something done about the USPS - not holding my breath, but glad to see this: https://us.cnn.com/2021/02/17/politi...sps/index.html

    copied&pasted from the article
Some lawmakers want Biden to go beyond filling empty seats, and take drastic action by firing the entire board.

Well if that's not a nudge to get something done, nothing is.

I shipped a package to my son in Chicago for his birthday, which was 2/13. I shipped it on 2/1. He still does not have it. It's been in the city of Chicago for 10 days of that span.

The Postal System is a JOKE.
