Grabbed a Déclaration Essence tester since it seems to a highly recommended flanker.
The bottle comes with listed notes printed on it so I'm thinking it's an earlier release
along with the lowercase spelling of déclaration.

Great catch! With my two Kouros sprayers always sticking and just plain not working half of the time, splash bottles have become more appealing to me.

I have that same tester bottle and I do think it's an older one -- however, I've never been able to discern any variations in different ages of Essence bottles. Not saying differences don't exist, just that I can't detect them.

    Comparison thread:

Turin's reviews of both in the original Guide are worth consulting too.

Been a few months since I used Viking, so will check both of these tonight. I'd any day rate MC superior to Viking, although, Viking is a quality fragrance I'm itself...

The first of three mis/accidental buys. Not bought today but have it now. Was buying a square bottle Colonia that might have been vintage and the guy said he hadn't realized he had another and would add it in cheap, so I bought it. Then what arrived was this, Lavanda Tonica. Had never heard of it....

Reading a bit here there are some say it's a good lavendar reference, and some that say it doesn't last long enough!!! Big surprise there. Have not looked into how old it is, or had a proper wearing yet, but did spray once and it seems intact.....

That´s one I regret selling. If my memory serves me right it I had no issues with longevity. Smell wise it was retro in the vein of Creed Royal Scottish Lavender - very nice!

    A bunch of vintage minis:

    Giorgio for Men
Aramis Tuscany (never smelled this one before)

That’s a nice collection. Early on, I bought a similar group. If you like the others, Tuscany is unlikely to disappoint you.

I quickly sampled Tuscany. Smells good and fresher than I expected vs. Azzaro pH, which I guess I had as a mental reference point.

The other minis I'm planning to layer with their current or "semi-vintage" versions (Fahrenheit, Esencia) and/or just compare how they fare against their current versions (Havana, Giorgio and Pasha). Actually, I already A-B tested Giorgio and Pasha's different versions and although vintage unsurprisingly wins, I think their reformulations are pretty good too.
    Spray less, love more.
