Acqua di Selva is an old standard, and Chaz was a reasonably popular macho American scent from the 1970s. (“Chaz” is a nickname for “Charles,” which would be Revlon’s Charles Revson.) They’re nothing alike, but I like them both.

The other two? I’ll let you know after they get here.

Thank you for the explanations, PStoller ! I knew about 'Chaz' because of Chaz Jankel, which I like.

I haven't tried either Boquet de Faunes or Djedi, simply because they are SO hard to find. They both sound like scents I would LOVE!

Only some wear the perfume, the rest use it...

I was looking for an older bottle of Tabac Original, to compare with the recent. I've been complaining for several days of the poor longevity scents, whatever the one I use; but I'm wondering if the very hot weather we're facing is not responsible for that feeling.

Anyway...here is the bottle (splash version), older than the current ones (pale blue dots on the bottle). I can say by just smelling the two (without wearing) that there is a difference. The older seems richer. But I'll give it a real try.

It came with a leaflet; I share it with you, if anybody is interested.

Nothing like having something from a country that no longer exists on the current world map. Nice find and I hope you enjoy.

Definitely cool.....BTW, I find that the EdC is the way to go with Tabac - the EdT doesn't smell anything like Tabac (to me, at least) and I'm not a fan of it - the EdC, on the hand, oh yeh!

Please report your findings once you've worn it! I like the current Tabac EdC, but it's a bit too much on the powdery side, which has kept me from buying the vintage version. (BTW, I just happened to buy the Tabac deodorant stick and it's quite potent and long lasting - and cheap as chips of course).
    Spray less, love more.

Thanks! And both still had the clear wrappers sealed. Upon a quick test, I'm relieved that they seem to have not "gone off" over time.

Vintage tabac edc was my fathers signature in the 70s , 80s and 90s....just a deep engraved scent, vintage is def better and nicer scent than todays version. Really.
