    Hello PStoller !

With such old fragrances, how do you keep them ? in a dark, fresh room all year long ?

Thanks! The boxes stacked on top are a bit haphazard now, but I’m planning some mild reorganization. The box underneath on the left is filled with samples/decants.

Very handsome cabinets. Love the burnished metal. And it looks like there are additional slots in the uprights so you can add shelves.

Thanks! Yes, I could add shelves, but it wouldn’t be practical given the vertical clearance I need for the bottles and to reach in for them. The second cabinet (on the right) was a gift from Dr. T., after I’d filled up the first one. Such an enabler, that woman.

Those are some cool cabinets! I could use a pair like those! Currently, my fragrances are sitting in a Ikea Malm 6 drawer chest.

Mine are in a 6-drawer plus 2-shelves dining room credenza, and I'm sick and tired of having to guess what things are by looking at the tops of their caps.

They're Restoration Hardware "Circa 1900s Steel & Glass Surgeon's Cabinets." Rather pricier than Ikea, I'm afraid, but RH has them on sale now.

    "Jacomo" de Jacomo.

Even if it's unfortunately not the vintage version (which I've never smelled), I find this one very good: warm and spicy.

    De Jussy - Arioso (c.1945)

Not much info out there on this apart from confirmation of its existence. Perfume Intelligence and Cleopatra's Boudoir date it to 1950, but it was advertised in 1945–1946.

    DeJAd1945.jpg

An enjoyable period aldehydic floral that neither threatens nor seduces. I prefer something edgier or more voluptuous, if not both, but it's charming nonetheless.

My vintage scent of the day is Monsieur de Givenchy.

I haven't worn this since November. It's a good one, a safe choice. Not the greatest longevity.
