Seems like a leaky sprayer was the culprit.

Then, if that wasn't bad enough, after I made up the decant I accidentally knocked it over and spilled all of it on the carpet. Completely ruined my whole day, and is still making me cranky today. Great-smelling carpet is not sufficient compensation.
I hate it when that happens

By far the best cheapie I've bought since Moustache 1949 came out. Today it smells very much of what Brooks Otterlake aptly described as "carbonated absinthe".

It's not a bad scent by any means but certainly not how I remembered it; maybe it'll grow on me?
Yeah, I'm not too sure about Jazz either. Hopefully time will fix that. I'm going to experiment with the aftershave to create an emulsion with unscented lotion as a base.

    Lenthéric - Numéro 12 (1933)

I’ll post some notes later, but either this has died or it never had much life to begin with.

    Lenthéric - Dykil (1935)

    This is not a disappointment.

Beyond confirmation of its existence, there’s pretty much nothing about Dykil online. I have no idea what the notes are supposed to be, what the name means or how to pronounce it (a reference to a mandala, maybe?), or how long it was in production—as far as I can tell, it didn’t survive WWII.

In any case, this is a dark woody fragrance—rosewood and cherry—with a minty-spicy top. It’s warm, solid, and just sweet enough to keep it from being dusty or murky. This is not an extroverted crowd-pleaser, which may be why it didn’t make the cut for Lenthéric’s post-war American expansion. But neither is it a me-too or wallflower scent. Mature, confident, and quietly individual, I could see Dykil winning some devoted fans—if only they could find it. Alas, this is probably one of the last bottles any of us will ever see.

Jean, last month we had a little frenzy around here over Or Black. Several of us ordered it from an online store in France that was offering free international shipping and the 100ml bottle was only 35 euros. I'm going to send you a PM with link to the store.
