I think blind buying is more 'fulfilling' than buying samples. Especially if it works out! Then it's magical!

However, RECEIVING samples along with an order is amazing and has almost as much or even more an impact when opening the package and seeing the contents. Love me some free samples (<3 Luckyscent).

    and Happy New Year everyone!

"It is far better to spray lightly and repeat a little later, than to double or triple spray a spot all at once."
Just wanted to comment on the above quote from cytherian's post in the the previous confessions thread:

Don't know if it's placebo but this worked very well with Etro Musk EdP, which when double-sprayed on the chest is on the verge of being too much for me. So I waited a while between the two sprays and I seemed to hit a perfect balance for this particular juice.

    Thanks!

The most I have worn the same fragrance consecutively is 62 times (SOTD and SOTE) on several occasions when on vacation.

I do find this a great way to reinforce a fragrance without it being too overwhelming. There are certain ones that I like to overwhelm and some where the above is the appropriate method.

I will have to try this method with Amouage Memoir Man and Tam Dao EdT next, which I like scent-wise but struggle a bit with finding the right balance. Whereas Knize Ten is an example of a fragrance I want to be overwhelmed with!

I end up loving the things I "should" hate (mass-appeal and compliment bro frags), and hate the things I "should" love (super artsy-fartsy indies or "semi-bespoke" all-natural artisan frags). Sometimes I think my olfactive compass is broken.

I've come to terms that I plan to keep this Mitsouko perfume bottle sealed for display purposes only - I don't have the will to crack open this well preserved gem.

I feel ya on this one. Or at least I'm very forgiving of the newer mainstream releases.

I smell my figs more than I eat them. Mouldy, earthy, resinous, fruity, slightly medicinal, thick - THE perfect gourmand accord.
The longer I keep them, the more pleasant they smell.

I ate pine seeds for the first time today - nutty, oily, soapy and piney.
    What a strange flavour!

I like the way my cheap (0,3$) passion fruit soap smells.

You obviously need a vintage fragrance pep talk. Why would you have a fragrance you don't wear? You only live once. Everyday you aren't enjoying life is a wasted day. Fragrance for some is a passion. Indulge. Don't give it a second thought. Fragrance was made to be enjoyed. You're lucky enough to have a vintage gem, wear it!
