Fragrances you like but those around you do not?

For some reason I've always loved what most around me in my daily life consider "old man" smelling fragrances. Not sure why I like them, I just do, in fact I love them. Do you have a similar guilty pleasure?

I wear what I enjoy never hear any negative comments, even if I did I work in a large open space in retail and am not out to impress anyone most my fragrances give off a mature vibe and I’m ok with that.

My better half doesn't like me in Nahema, Black Aoud (though this gets compliments from others), Ambrarem, Hanbury - all perfumes I have to wear when I know we're going to be apart for most of the day.
Ohters don't seem to care much for Miyako.
In general I'm cautious about wearing heavy ouds when I'm out and about.

My wife isn’t a fan of Rasasi Tobacco Blaze because after a while you smell like you are a smoker as the ash is realistically prominent. I give her a break and wear it for myself when she has a long day at work.

Not sure about specific fragrances that others dislike, but I can resonate with "old man" smelling. I am quite young compared to many members here, and I'm sure that my tastes would be - at the very least - defined as "mature" by many in my age group.

I wonder how much context including style plays into the perception of a frag including such notions as "old man smelling"? For instance, I've been wearing vintage Azzaro and Heritage like mad this past year and they are often received well without any comments on their seemingly antiquated profiles (albeit within the limitations of current circumstances).

I'm not sure but my personal tastes with regard to style also tend to be somewhat more mature than one would expect for my age.

A good scent. And the Oliver Reed mention is quite apt.

When I had a sample of Santa Maria Novella Sandalo, I had family run away to another room lol. That actual smells like a scent that perhaps Oliver Reed would like.
