Dear, dear (((Quarry))), I'm so glad to hear about your good day. That fills my heart with light and hope.

It's a beautiful sunny day here, and I'm reminded of how much I enjoy Nebraska's winters. They may be chilly (and sometimes frigid), but they are uncommonly sunny.

Foxbins, I know what you mean. In an explosion of optimism, we booked a 7-day cruise for the end of November (taking the 14 y/o and one of his friends). Who knows if they'll even be sailing by then, but we really need a trip to look forward to. Maybe all is not lost, furniture-wise. I've moved a lot of my furniture shopping online, and I've been shocked at how little I actually need the in-person "let me just sit in it" test. A couple of my favorite sources are Joybird (https://joybird.com) (which produced a living room sectional, a chair, and 4 ottomans) and EQ3 (https://www.eq3.com/us/en/) (they're in Canada and I've kept my order to mostly smaller things, other than our kitchen table). I've also had good luck with the contract-grade items at West Elm, specifically bookshelves and a liquor cabinet All of these places have "white-glove" delivery and installation.

I'm enjoying the violet leaf and leather of Arquiste Aleksandr today.

Our "good yesterday" was rounded out when hunter Mr. Q got a young buck with his crossbow. Venison for the freezer!
Today wasn't bad either, but I tuckered myself out by noon making a meal for the first time in 7 weeks (stew and a salad), and doing some light dusting and organizing.

I wore this all day (and I oversprayed - since this one wears kinda light). It's the strangest sandalwood. It smells savory...like some sort of salty, woody oil. Like you're eating a sandalwood pita wrap or something like that.

Evening all,

We are headed back to the country after a few frantic city days. My mum and dad are both fully vaxx’d now. Literally in the last two days, it appeared, almost like magic, right after the inauguration. I think we might actually see a 100 million in 100 days. Just like some guy from Queens went on TV last spring, and said that it would magically go away. Except, this time, it really happened! It is tempting to add something about lies vs truth, but actions speak louder than words, anyway.

Also, most of the ambers you have, Trilby, have a prominent smoke note. To my nose, there’s no obvious smoke to Ambre Russe — it’s a delicious, golden, slightly boozy amber. Just terrific. I don’t think it would be redundant with what you already have. And the 50ml PdEs in EDP strength are reasonably priced, so that’s a plus!

Teardrop, your mister is plainly a keeper! I’ll bet that foot spa felt wonderful. Glad it was a good day for you!

It hadn’t specifically occurred to me before, but, yes, I think that’s what keeps Ambre Russe from being overly sweet. I wouldn’t say you can actually smell the saltiness, but it balances and heightens some of the other notes if you know what I mean.
