Have not smelled this in SOOOO Long... how does it hold up ?
Worth a bottle ? Or is there something close ?
I thought I had a sample of it a few days ago but turns out it was just Elrofa

Odd you’re asking this question seeing as this was one of the fragrances you claimed to have tested on your group of female testers.
Unless of course you made those threads up? That’s kinda hard to believe though as they seemed really genuine

Between Covid and retirement I don't get out much. But when I do, I smell real good.

Creed Aventus "is" a good fragrance. I personally don't rank it high in my collection, but I definitely think it smells great. Sometimes people get caught up in a backlash against any art that is 'hyped' and gets a lot of public attention. Whether it's the Bee Gees of the late 1970's and the backlash against them or Aventus nowadays in fragrance enthusiast circles. I tend not to follow the crowd, so I'm able to just say things like they are. One of my favorite fragrances of all-time, Old Spice, gets a horrible rap from the general public who have this idea that anything 'old' that was hugely popular is somehow to be shunned. Again, I like what I like and I won't hide my opinion about it like I'm some young kid looking for social acceptance. I'm confident in my opinion of what I consider good in art or style or whatever.
I agree. I love Royal Water. Along with Green Irish Tweed they were both the first Creed fragrances I bought (and my first 'niche' buys nearly 5 years ago when this fragrance interest started for me). The lemon, faint natural mint and slight gin accent just make a great summer fragrance. It's not a complicated fragrance. It's fairly simple and pleasing.

I see.
That's interesting. I've had over 150 samples and decants over the years and all have had an adhesive label firmly affixed.
Never "lost" a label.
So when you went out testing you assumed the unmarked decant was CREED ROYAL WATER even though you have never obtained a sample of it.

I love it.
FYI: I spray all fragrances on clothing, never on skin.

Older batches had more pronounced rose. Current ones lean towards the citruses and juniper. It's a very non-sweet citrus chypre with a lovely ambergris base. I only have old 90's frosted bottles but I wore a decant of modern before I bought them, so I can vouch for both versions. You just have to enjoy classic citrus chypres without sweetness. If you need that sweetness and modern fragbro compliment factor, you're better off sticking to JF videos and GQ magazine. This one is not that kind of Creed.

I can't imagine Royal Water, Erofla, or anything else from Creed being good scent wise or performance in 2021. The several years preceding 2021 weren't that good IMO.

Interesting. My bottle of Royal Water is from 2015 (A3615R01). Both the scent and performance are excellent. I should probably create a swap list because I'd gladly swap it for something I'd wear more often.
I only have a sample of Erolfa, but it's at least 5 years old. The top notes don't last particularly long, but that base lasts forever on my skin. I don't get a transition from top to heart to base from Erolfa. On my skin at least, it seems like it's just a top and a base. The citrus/floral/melon top doesn't last long, but the ambergris/etc base goes on and on and on.
