After finding out that Serge Lutens is ceasing retail distribution in the USA on April 1st (outside of its own web site), bought the last remaining bottle of Rahät Loukhoum from Luckyscent. This has been a longtime favourite from the brand.

I got caught up in the last Serge Lutens Panic a few years ago and purchased several bottles. I feel kind of betrayed now.

Yeah, I did a bit of panic buying back then as well. I’m pretty well-stocked at this point, but really wanted a bit more Rahät Loukhoum to tide me over in case I never make it back to Paris. I’m thinking about Une Voix Noire as well, but I don’t wear it as often.

Today I went downtown to The Bay and bought the newly arrived Mugler Angel Nova, 50 ml refillable plus 10 ml purse size. After months of closing, merchants are very happy to be seeing customers again and as a result the SAs were very generous with samples, even unasked.

    Received were:
    Mugler Angel Nova mini
Cartier L’Heure Convoitée, L’Heure Mystérieuse, Baiser Volé and Carat
Goutal L’Île au Thé*, Tenue de Soirée, Rose Pompon, Le Temps des Rêves and an Une Forêt d’Or candle

Nice haul! I haven’t smelled Nova yet, no one here in San Diego carries much Mugler.

Thanks, cazaubon. To my nose it smells exactly like the bottle looks: rosey, fruity and sassy, yet with a quasi-animalic drydown surprise. Only started exploring Nova but those are my first impressions.

I saw this brand in Bloomingdale's awhile back. I tried so many that I liked that I was overwhelmed and ended up not getting any. I did notice that they were no longer on the website. I wonder if they do have them in the B&M stores though. I haven't been able to get back to that store yet.

    Chanel Jersey

    YSL Libre Intense

Both have lavender, my latest favorite note.

    Nice!

I'm curious about trying properly a few Chanel Exclusifs. I have decided to buy Boy Chanel, so would try and get some samples when I buy it. Stores here in Toronto are all under lockdown, so probably not before June.

What a nice thing to say, FWV. Thank you!

If you're in a hurry about getting Boy, during the pandemic I've ordered Exclusifs with free shipping from Holt Renfrew Ogilvy's Chanel counter in Montréal, and they asked what samples I wanted. The store is open now but even when they were closed to customers, the staff was taking phone orders.

Lavender is probably one of the best perfumes to wear at this time because aside from smelling good it has all kinds of therapeutic properies. (Runs to spritz on Mon Guerlain…)

True confession, and I hope I don't get kicked out of Basenotes: I prefer Mon Guerlain to my bottle of Jicky parfum. Mon Guerlain performs better and more reliably.

I didn't know that. I luckily managed to purchase the 26 main releases from abroad and are very happy with them.
