Today, I'm going to do a bit more of the Marie Kondo process. I'm up to books and papers. Flew through the clothing, handbags, shoes section on Friday - ended up with less than a bag full of clothing stuff for the bin and they were thrown because of wear and tear. Didn't find any still good clothes that didn't spark joy this time round - was surprised at this outcome thought I'd have a few "don't spark joy" items tucked away somewhere.

First day of autumn here so I'm wearing one of my autumn favourites - Ginger Biscuit by Jo Malone.

Sending healing thoughts to those that need them and hugs to all!

Well done, CuddleCat! A bit of stock clearance is always
    cathartic.

I can hardly believe it's the 1st of March and we've been dictated
to by Covid for almost a year now. Spring is on the horizon and
we'll see this thing off soon, hopefully.

My SOTD is Datura Noir by Serge Lutens.

    Eau de Toilette
Have I told you about the scent of jasmine? Have I spoken about the smell of the sea? The earth is scented. And I perfume myself to enhance what I am. That's why I can not wear a perfume that bothers me. Perfuming is an instinctive wisdom. And like all art, it requires some knowledge of yourself..."

Neither good nor bad, IMO. Just an example of a modern artisan continuing the tradition of his forbearers, by representing the figures he sees around him.

I wonder what Salvador Dali would have done with a representation of 2020?

It's another sunny day, but the air doesn't have that spring smell yet. I'm hearing robins in the morning, though, and meadow larks in the late afternoon, so I'm hoping they know something

I was craving dank woods this morning, and so I'm wearing Profumum Patchouly (from a sample). I'll probably wait until the fall to get a FB of this one. I can't imagine wanting to wear it as things warm up here.

I'm celebrating spring in Uncle Serge's Fleurs d'Oranger. There's still a couple of heritage orange groves in the area. Orange County is famous for them.

Hello everyone That cathedral makes me think about the "outer space" La Boheme I just went to .... I wish we had spring just around the horizon here too,but it keeps pouring down snow today :/ From experience it will continue that way until May. Scenteise I'm in a more feel of spring . It's the new formulation of Jicky for me today. The citrus and lavender is like it used to be, but even the bf noticed that the leather is less present. Hopefully it will age into something with more pronounced civet and leather like I'm used to.

I appreciate the Saturday posters who joined me in celebrating my growing liberation. Yesterday, with warming weather and having grown a half inch of hair, I stopped wearing headcoverings 24/7. In public, a baseball cap will be enough to look normal. Normal is marvelous.

Member cestrum nocturnum (miss her) once sent me samples in this cute miniature totebox with functional locking handles. It's where I keep iris scent samples. Just as with violet, I used to be anosmic to iris, but sniffing perseverance has paid off, and I've come to love Prada d'Iris Cedre and the regrettably unattainable, limited edition JM Iris & Lady Moore.

Today I'm sampling Guerlain's latest, Iris Torréfié. It starts out a grassy, green iris. It stays meek throughout its life. On paper, the drydown smells incredibly similar to Bulgari Au Thé Blanc. I'm confused who Guerlain designed this for. I don't imagine many perfumistas need this as an addition to their wardrobe, and I don't see the general pop getting excited by the formula. I should try it again in summer for another perspective.

Keeping all my cookbooks but found 15 other books that I no longer need, I've switched mostly to ebooks now as I've found that reading books with white print on a dark background is much gentler on my eyes and I can read with the lights off in the evening, too.

My evening scent was Daim Blond by Serge Lutens.

I've had a nap and now the plumber has left-- he fixed a cracked sink trap, a running toilet, and a frozen/busted outdoor spigot. He was so gentle with me, like he was speaking to a particularly slow child... "You can take the hose off when the weather freezes. If you leave the hose on, they'll bust like that nearly every time."

That's a bit of information I already knew, but what could I say under the circumstances?
