The Robot's scent today startled me into looking it up. Bearglove?!?! From a review:

Apparently bears keep lots of melon in their gloves. I mean, a lot of melon. All kinds. These woods are covered in melon. Not bad if you like that sort of scent.

I actually use that Old Spice deodorant! I alternate between Wolfthorn (candy-tutti frutti-chewing gum like), Bearglove (fruity-minty) and Citron (citron + sandalwood), and I think I had Timber once, too (woody). I have Bearglove and Citron in my bathroom right now. I think I like Citron's scent the best, but it's an antiperspirant, and I like to keep a good old deodorant around, too, for days when I don't need an extra strong protection, which is probably most days.
Yeah, I said it, I use Old Spice deodorant for many years now.


Today I'm wearing Alaia and Alaia Nude together, and in the evening I might spray some Bottega Veneta over it.

My dental appointment went very smoothly and the issue that had me messed up a few weeks ago is repaired. My dentist is a very enjoyable person so that makes it easier.

Yesterday, President Biden announced that there will be enough vaccine for everyone by the end of May, earlier than previously expected. Somehow that made me incredibly happy.

I ditched a creepy dentist for an enjoyable dentist. She is chatty and interesting, tho sometimes I want to laugh at the wrong moment.

Woke up to last night's Chanel Misia. The drydown is a dead ringer for Guerlain Nahema—a jammy, jammy rose.

I'm about to walk up the street to hear Lenten organ meditations at a local church. I don't observe Lent, but I appreciate all the seasons different cultures mark. Myself, I just finished celebrating Purim, for which I make yeast dough hamantaschen; afterwards I time out how to use up flour and wheat products in the four weeks from then to Passover. Here is a photo from my neigborhood.

Jon, congrats! I'm not surprised Onda has grown on you. It's such a magnificent, leathery vetiver without a lot of the stinky funk you hate It reminds me of MAAI - in fact, the reason I didn't buy Onda Voile d'Extrait when I had the chance is because MAAI won out. I figured I'd buy Onda later. So, as much as my bank account objected last night, I'm glad I got the second chance.

This will be an entire week of springlike weather, and I'm enjoying the view of another bright sunny day. I haven't actually made it outside yet but will enjoy a bit of it when I go to my yoga practice later.

I'm wearing Dusita Le Pavillon d'Or. The first couple of hours are gorgeous - with a green that's all sharp elbows but still smells like the coming spring, with a touch of sweetness and sunlight. The dry down is just kind of meh. Listed notes are mint, honeysuckle, orris, boronia, thyme, olibanum, heliotrope, fig leaf, oak, sandalwood. Erawan is the Dusita fragrance that really floats my boat.

Afternoon all,

I’m wearing Lime, Basil & Mandarin, from a sample. Observations from a major JM sampling spree: the house loves sharp, bitter, lotion-smelling musks that hide beneath innocuous pale florals and “plain” citruses. I had a bottle of this scent years ago, and I wonder if it has changed. Now, for this kind of thing, I would rather have Acqua di Parma, which has better citrus, and more interesting composition.
