Default The NEW Phone Books here! The NEW Phone Books here! CARON L'ANARCHISTE

    Hi all,

I'll cut right to the chase. I just now applied my first ever (test) Sprays of my new (just arrived) CARON L'ANARCHISTE. My first thoughts/impressions ? OMG! Caron L'Anarchiste is one of THE most AWESOME Colognes I've owned in the last (nearly) twenty years! I can not believe how OUTSTANDING this Caron. LOL, I can't stop smelling my Wrist lol. There is just sooooo much going on with this Fragrance, so many layers/depth. This may be one of THE best "blind buys" I've ever purchased.

Thanks hednic, I'm finding L'Anarchiste truly most excellent! I however admit, I was hoping for more "weirdness/Animalic" but, nevertheless, a unique Fragrance to be sure.

Caron is so underrated, I hope you try others. My all time fav for men is Third Man by Caron. It is just perfection
But once you get locked into a serious perfume collection, the tendency is to push it as far as you can.

    Hi Lian,

Oooh, I'm way ahead of you Lian. Caron L'Anarchiste is my forth bottle of Caron now in my collection. Aside from "L'Anarchiste" I own "3rd. Man", Caron Sport and (in my TOP TEN) "Yatagan". Caron, along with Lalique and perhaps Bogart have been my "go to" best bang for the Buck Houses. The one Caron I have not tried as I fear it might be TOO sweet for my taste is Caron Pour Homme.

    Congratulations and enjoy!

A truly great buy, providing often inexpensively (actually in the case of most if not nearly all offline and online retailers of this fragrance) a luxurious, mature stylish quality level with a contemporary classic niche feel.
    Currently wearing: Vetiver by Guerlain

    Hi Ken_,

Oooh thank you Sir Ken. I truly believe I've found a "winner" with this Caron. I soooo love it when I discover (albeit late to the Party) such a HIGH quality/unique Fragrance without having to pay "Niche" prices. In my World, discovering/finding such Fragrances is what makes this Hobby so much fun and so rewarding.

Well, you're certainly one of the most enthusiastic Basenoters.

The number of new scent purchases that inspire me to be that giddy has slowed, but still happens on occasion.

    Glad you like it.
Between Covid and retirement I don't get out much. But when I do, I smell real good.

this scent should have earned an award for originality. It is even more startling from a traditional house like Caron. I love it.
FYI: I spray all fragrances on clothing, never on skin.

    Hi Sty,

Thanks Sty. Yes Sir. I's call's em as I's seez em! I've made many Fragrance purchases over the last couple of Months and (to my Nose) this Caron is by far one of the best Fragrances that I've purchased in a long time. I especially love the opening. Recently, (in addition to the Caron) I have purchased the following :

Lalique "Encre Noire" (and all the Flankers)
    Lalique "Lion"
    Guerlain "Vetiver"
    Guerlain "Homme"
    Guerlain "Imperial"
    E. Zegna "UOMO"
    Tabac
    JV Dark Rebel
    Gray Flannel
    Nautica Voyage
    Nautica Blue
    CK ONE Shock
    Bentley Intense
    Worth Je Reviens (mini)
    Dior Fahrenheit
    (awaiting MARLOU "AMBILUX")
and.....a "special" Fragrance from my past I will post about (with Glee) once I have it in Hand.

After this, there are at least two more "Special" Fragrances I really want to (must) purchase (albeit a little pricey) but, after those two future purchases, I MUST cool my Jets! I just did a quick inventory and I now have well over one hundred Bottles of Cologne/Perfume/Aftershave/Attars/not including "Decants/Samples". Uggggh. F.A.D. anyone ?

    Hi tc,

Agreed! This is one rather unique smelling Fragrance. I can't believe this one isn't more popular.

I want my money back. I clicked in here thinking it was a thread about Steve Martin.

    Cook,

I did put in the Steve Martin (Jerk) link above. Just because, "I'm a wild and crazy Guy!"

It was perfumer William Frasees fave...he developed Caron Pour Homme Sport which is great and under- rated.

    HI Surf,

Thank you Surf. I so like it when I can find a (new to me) Fragrance that is completely different/unique than the too many "run of the Mill" Fragrances.
I hope you do wear more often (and enjoy) L'Anarchiste. If I have any one criticism regarding L'Anarchiste, it would be I wish it had longer Legs.

Thanks to your thread I pulled out my bottle as my SOTD, longevity seems totally fine to me. It still smells of a wonderful slightly minty, slightly fruity freshness 6 hours after a light application. I have great luck with Caron in general and find all of them to perform above average even though I am generally light on the trigger.

EDIT: it's now about 8hrs since application and I'm getting lovely pipe tobacco vibes.

A very good frag. Bright and dark at the same time. Neither a classic-retro, nor modern or mainstream. It simply IS and that's it.

    Hi mrcologn,

Sadly, it is not in the old Copper Bottle. I wish I had purchased that bottle back in the day.
