My secondary vintage scent of today is: creosote.

There's a railroad line about 60 yards beyond my open window, and they're doing some maintenance over there today, replacing some ties and rails. The smell of the creosote-soaked ties is wafting in my window and smells intoxicating. It smells like an industrial version of the shrubs in the high chaparral of California that they call 'creosote bushes' (larrea tridentata).

It seems so odd that I love this smell, but I can't stand notes of petrol or rubber in perfumes.

I last sampled this about 4 or 5 years ago, and am giving it another go. It's a wonderful scent - I really dig it. My only quibble is that I wish it were stronger.

Dang, too late to the party!
I put on some Dune because there was some Dune talk today and I had to go put it on.

No room for anything else now, but later this evening I’ll choose from one of your samples - Versace l’Homme, I think, while I’m watching Westworld.

Roger that. It's a shame it's such a light scent; it vanished in short order for me....At least it gave me an excuse this evening to finally sample the new Dior Homme 2020 that has ruffled a lot of feathers of late. Knowing before hand that it's a different fragrance from the original Dior Homme, and having an open mind about it, I'm happy to report that I find it rather nice. I like it, actually. Will have to give it further testing down the road.

It's 3 hours earlier here, and I run 3 hours later than everyone else, so you're in plenty of time. I'll pick one and post shortly.
