Alas, now that it's been several hours since I first applied the vintage, I stand by initial impression that I like the current version better than the vintage mini. As a matter of fact, I had to go to the bullpen and call for this current version to save the day:

My only experience with vintage Or Black was also from a mini, and on the basis of that and declarations in this forum that the modern stuff was desirable, I got the new one. And I have to concur, I believe the modern might be better than the vintage... or at least just as good.

It's such a wonderfully quirky scent. I can't quite understand how it does what it does.

I went through a day with one on each arm, and found them remarkably similar through most of their evolutions—that is, except when it came to longevity. On my skin, the vintage version remained strong for hours after the reissue had all but faded. So, really, my reference for the vintage is strictly a performance rather than a scent issue.

I agree that the current version is lacking in the longevity department - that's my only quibble - it definitely requires some sprays to clothing to help in that regard.
