Such a treasure trove of Lucien Lelong perfumes. I've smelled a couple, the best being Elle Elle - they really don't make things like that anymore.

Hello everyone. Chanel No 5 today. This is eau de cologne, beautifully mellow and full bodied. Lasts forever, too.

My 2021 scent discovery - incredible longevity and one of the best drydowns ever composed. I'm reclaiming this one for the blokes!

Elle Elle is one I haven’t tried, but I love the name.

    Caron - Yatagan

I hated the “celery” note the first time I wore it, and hated it again when I gave it a second chance. And now I’m trying it <ahem> yatagan. But this time, with a twist: Mudassir, who doesn’t detect strong celery in Yatagan, has challenged me to try two older vintages to see if they present me with the same problem. I’ve got one on each arm, and so far, so good. The black atomizer on my left arm opens “browner” in smell, while the silver on my right starts “greener,” though they are more alike than different. What I’m not getting is much of the reedy “yellow” celery seed scent that dominated my newer bottle. Not that it’s completely absent—I’m getting some in the black atomizer version—but it’s at tolerable levels and blending, la Nina Ricci Phileas.

Well, I still have to get through the drydowns, but, damn it, I may have to buy a vintage bottle after all.

To me, the older Yatagan smells like rosemary.

You're cutting Yatagan more slack than I ever give to actual people. Too bad he's an inanimate object and can't appreciate the effort you're making.

I definitely get that from the silver atomizer, which is smoother overall. The black has more of a “root beer leather” thing going on, if that makes any sense at all. It’s darker and more overtly “masculine,” but I’m leaning toward silver at the moment.

There's something about this entire photograph that is very, very sexy.

    Maybe it's the leather strap.

    Syncing with Nosey in Aramis.

Sadly I am stripped of straps and strops.

Been awhile since I last wore it. Whew! The opening takes large strides.

Dude, you stole Zealot's avatar. That is SO wrong!

Good to see you. I'm getting used to the name change. Quick question. What is properly considered vintage for this thread, these days? I have a lot of stuff aging into "10 year technical vintage", not all seeming bow-down worthy. A superior or more nuanced metric is welcome!
