I must be getting old, but it is hard to believe that Lys Mediterranee, one of my favorite compositions from one of my favorite perfumers, Edouard Flechier, was released over 20 years ago and can now be posted in the vintage SotD thread...
    Current Top Ten:
    1) Portrait of a Lady original formula (EdP Frédéric Malle)
    2) Jasmin Antique (Rogue Perfumery)

    3) Giorgio for Men vintage (Giorgio Beverly Hills) - tie
    3) Giorgio V.I.P. Special Reserve (Giorgio Beverly Hills) - tie

    5) Dia pour Homme vintage edt (Amouage)

    6) Nombre Noir (Shiseido)
    7) Lucifer (Renaissance Fragrances)
    8) Polo vintage (Ralph Lauren)
    9) Monsieur de Givenchy vintage (Givenchy)
    10)Javanese Patchouli (Zegna)

Currently wearing: Nombre Noir by Shiseido

A splash of Hermès Bel Ami - one of the greatest, most poised leather scents, sadly today's version has been thinned out and really only gives an impression of its former self.
I have both, and the difference is noticeable. Current is good, but vintage is spectacular.

    SOTD: Frances Denney - Hope
    SOTE: Helena Rubinstein - Emotion

The top notes in my mini of Hope are mostly gone, but the clove-y carnation drydown is intact. That's nice, but the world is full of clove/carnation scents, and this isn't separating itself from the pack for me. Love the BN reviews, though, especially Artemsia's, which is vastly more narrative and erotic than the scent I'm wearing.

My high hopes for Hope somewhat dashed, I scrubbed the carnation that wasn’t developing into anything else and switched to Emotion, a Jean Kerléo floral (his debut, it seems) with quite a bit more going on. I’m waiting for the jasmine to recede a bit so I can get a better sense of the total composition…

…which I now have done. Hiding beneath the flowers is a base at once earthy and airy, as if Kerléo had whipped up an oakmoss foam, or perhaps infused it with helium. The scent is present and warm, despite its lack of weight. It’s a neat trick, and a harbinger of things to come from the perfumer.

La Nuit de Paco Rabanne EDP

Started the day with a nip of Harriet Hubbard Ayer Golden Chance which seems a precursor to the Animalic gìant La Nuit opening and a Mitsouko-esque Oakmoss drydown.
