Ciro - Réflexions
There's nothing left in this mini but some vague, musty woods, and perhaps a few other strangled basenotes struggling for air. Ah, well. Later, I'll switch to Surrender, which looks better-preserved and has a better reputation, as well.

Ciro - Surrender
This turned out to be very nice, indeed. But a combination of a second vaccination shot and a Tylenol PM made me too sleepy to assess it in more detail. I think I still like Danger more, but Surrender is probably an easier wear.

Grey Flannel today; first time I'm wearing it.

You might find the older Grey Flannel more to your liking, as I have: it’s labeled “cologne” rather than “eau de toilette.” Even so, it’s an unusual fragrance that doesn’t work for everyone.
I second the Bowling Green recommendation. It’s completely unlike Grey Flannel, a joyful outdoorsy scent.

Robert Piguet - Fracas
Generally speaking, I think fragrance gendering is misguided, more a matter of marketing (and perhaps territorial marking) than whether a man or woman can wear a scent comfortably without feeling as if they’re cross-dressing—not that there’s anything wrong with that. Indeed, as many a vintage maven before me has noted, most of the variety and creativity in early perfumery was nominally feminine, and a lot of it has more cojones (never mind complexity and sophistication) than today’s nominal masculines.
That said, Fracas is a hot pink taffeta dress that Billy Porter wouldn’t wear on a bet. The only way I can properly pull this tuberose overdose off is as rapidly as possible.

Dr. T. hates stuff like this, too, but I got up early enough today that I could get to the drydown and then scrub it before she comes home. Hats off to Germaine Cellier for her audacity, but there's a reason vintage Bandit costs an arm and a leg while vintage Fracas can be had for spare change.
