This doesn't surprise me, as I recall you liking Insolence. The flowers are different, of course, but Insolence uses fruity sweetness to roughly approximate what Fracas does with tuberose. Between them, I'd opt for Fracas, but I'm glad I'm not stuck between that Scylla and Charybdis.

It's great, though I understand that I might not be a persuasive source.

Raises hand. But I agree; the opening can be a bit challenging. That's just the nature of tuberose.

    SOTE:

    Robert Piguet - Jeunesse (1975)

This is the original Jeunesse by Raymond Chaillan, not the 2012 Pacific Collection reissue by Aur駘ien Guichard. If there's blackcurrant, raspberry, pomegranate, and a "macaron (or macaroon) note" in this, you can't prove it by me, so my guess is that all Guichard took from it was the name. This is a light hespiridic floral, more akin to an eau de cologne—though reasonably distinctive in the category—than a dark red fruit cocktail. Nothing as daring as any of Cellier's creations for Piguet, but I'd still take it over Fracas any day. Alas, longevity seems also on a par with an eau de cologne.

Oh, I do wear Fracas from time to time. I find the link to Madonna/Martha amusing, since I find Fracas to be a rather warm, sweet, and cuddly scent. Definitely for the colder weather. I even bought a bottle of Madonna's Truth or Dare and...it smells a lot like Fracas.

I might not be able to do this one. It's a tiny, half-full bottle, and I've never seen another.

I wasn't super serious about it anyway. I just wanted a reason to joke about the anxiety concerning "the list".

A few generous sprays of this - quickly becoming a favourite of 2021, so a backup bottle was snatched from eBay a couple of weeks ago which smells even better than my current bottle.
