Probably around 50% are well-researched blind buys.

Approximately 1 in 5 were blind buys, or even less.

    Maybe 20-30%
    1. No, never blind buy (I do, but do as I say, not as I do. I'm taking no responsibility for your fragrance gambling).
    2. Get them both. You're a Basenoter and you know you're going to end up purchasing them both eventually.
    3. Yes, it has been reformulated.
    4. Looking for a signature scent? You've come to the wrong place.

Overall, maybe 3.5 out of 5 have been blind buys. I've had a pretty high success rate, especially with cheapie reformulations of old classics but I also do my research beforehand and practically never buy anything just because of a good price.

99% of the times. I am comfortably blind buying if the fragrance is under $350 per bottle.

But other than that I live in a city with a perfume selection wide enough to satisfy my needs and can test anything in store before buying.

I tend to buy quite a bit But, I do research read reviews so know what notes then if I spot in TKMaxx etc at a good price I will jump and buy. So far I have never bought something blind I hated.

For me, too often, but it's mostly worked out quite well. I do a good bit of research ahead of time.

Almost never. I don't want to blind buy something when there is already plenty out there that I know I actually like and would like to have.

Quite a bit. I’m decisive so it works for me.

This is probably one of my problems. I often do so but try to fight it.

Sometimes it's a gray area. I recently "blind bought" Coromandel Parfum online. I know Coromandel edt and edp, but I haven't tried the parfum.

I count it as a blind buy, but I consider it low risk.

I did it a lot in my first couple of years of perfume obsession, but very rarely now. Once bitten, twice shy. Or in my case, more like 20 times bitten, once shy.

Blind buy far more than I test... Curiosity simply gets the best of me but for most purchases I do a thorough research prior and evaluate whether it fills a void, a whimsy, or a 'need'. Surely, the gamble is a big part of the rush and adds to the discovery/experience. Of course, pricing, deals, availability all play role into it... I would say 90% of the time...

Maybe out of every 20 or so purchases? I try to avoid it but if I can get something for a really good deal from a trusted perfumer or that has been well reviewed by a trusted source I sometimes bite. I always bling buy at thrift stores though.
