Had the perfect candidate for today's sync - this is the most bonkers packaging I have (actually maybe not... but I can't say I like it so it's best qualified for sync). Roberto Cavalli - from the pink snakeskin on box and bottle to the Da Vinci Code levels of symbolism.. Sorry for the huge photo - unsure how to resize but maybe it'll help you appreciate this monstrosity..

The spiral plastic snake is a kind of lid in that it covers the pink ball sprayer (took me a couple of years to realize that was probably an apple..), but it can also be pressed down like a spring to spray... a whole new level of finger fumbling to get a spritz out of it. I have to admit I have a sneaking appreciation for the sheer crazy that went into its design...

    71jHk3alSwL._AC_SX679_.jpg

Sadly, when I went to it, I found that I can't really smell it, so I've gone back to my plan for this week - Bruno Acampora oils, and am wearing Sballo from their gift set of 2.5 ml minis in corked metal phials.. which is also fiddly but somehow much more acceptable than the Cavalli....

Happy Birthday Ryan! I hope you are getting a bit more sleep now.

    Mike, are you better today?

It's too hot for Angels Share here (the only scent I have with me) but I will go sniffing later and put on something nice. Happy Friday, everyone!

    all!
Thank you for celebrating with me, darlings. I was unexpectedly giddy leaving the clinic yesterday. Today I gutted the 3-ring binder I was given at the start of treatment and pulled all the literature that's no longer relevant. I just ran that 3/4-inch-thick stack of papers through the shredder. It'll be good for the compost.

Ryan, I wish happy birthday and happy everyday.

Good to see you, khanada. Looking forward to your steady return whenever that works out.

Do I have to explain why this lettering looks sophomoric? And look at the double-vision outline text near the bottom of the box. This is VIP Room Signature. That cap weighs 3.7 ounces, by the way.

I also started to crave lavender during this crazy year. It does soothe and calm somehow.
I rarely wear it, but I smell a cap of Twilight by Lush several times per week and it makes me feel better. (It's a lavender and tonka scent, very comforting). I also have Mon Guerlain on the counter, too.

dear Ms Q, lovelovelove your swan shower curtain greenhouse, but most of all loveluvlurv clear scans! Mazal tov!

Taught music at my high school today, including working with some young bassists. One young man had a particularly keen ear for where he wanted to improve his playing, and a fine grasp of mechanics, especially considering he had been playing for only two years. Turns out he's an athlete, a baseball player no less, thus that micro attention to mechanics! It was really refreshing to work in my field and with motivated players. I left the house scentless, of all things!

SOTE is still undecided. Can you all stand the suspense?

    Besos!

    Evening all—

Thank you all for the welcomes backs. ClockworkAlice, I love L’Agent and think it’s probably a worthy blind buy if you like huge incenses. Blue Silk is different—an easy blind buy for me, but I can’t think of a single perfume to compare it with, just overlapping Venn diagrams of several unrelated scents.

I can’t remember if I mentioned E&J Nirvana French Grey. It’s also great, and anyone who likes neroli and lavender should give it a twirl.

I think I am finally starting to turn the corner.

I guess, this isn’t an awful place to share this, since we talk about anything and everything here. In addition to being slammed by work, I have been growing increasingly, clinically, chronically depressed, which usually happens when the days grow shorter rather than the opposite. I think permanently relocation out of the city, giving up a sense of belonging somewhere—it is all intertwined. I finally took the plunge and called my doctor, who prescribed a medication that has helped me crawl out of the hole before. I think I am also on the edge of leaving my job. I get my second Covid Vaxx on Monday, which will make retuning to the outside world a bit less daunting. Our local employment options are not exciting or extensive, but I can feel the breaking point coming, as another damn meeting today took up nearly two hours that could have been communicated with a email (maybe with some required answering section for accountability). I always have to stay late after those, because I’m a key holder, and also because I have to tidy up after the agents come in. I know if I complain, the new boss will likely just hire someone to do the cleaning and other little tasks, cut my hours, and start pushing me out. It would probably be more economically feasible.

I saw a manager’s position open at a local show store, probably not so exciting or challenging, but somewhere I won’t have to deal with micromanaging and maybe good place to cool the jets before I start hunting for more office work. The library is also hiring for a training position, and that’s a job I would ❤️ love. I almost did library science in college, and I would love to spend my days around books. We’re rural enough here that I think the library scene won’t be sketchy like it can be in big cities. I’m going to give the meds a couple of weeks to really dontheir thing (it has only been 3 days and I feel significantly better—can’t wait for the full effect of these!!)

I wore Blue Silk again today, and then joined the synch with Dali Laguna (my bottle is huge, so believably ugly, but such a great hot weather scent). Then I rolled on with the same scent house, with vintage Dali parfum (something I need to re-up on soon).

I hope things are well with all. Happy early Saturday!!
