    Evening all,

Testing out Lonesome Rider, courtesy of a very generous and kind BNer.

It smells like West Texas. Lots of mesquite wood with its leather.

Hello and best to everyone. Lalique Le Parfum today. It would have worked for last Friday’s synch (heavy, oversized blocky cube; awkward to hold, two hands needed to spray) or this Friday, panned by The Guide. (LT: “rock bottom”)

Have I told you about the scent of jasmine? Have I spoken about the smell of the sea? The earth is scented. And I perfume myself to enhance what I am. Coconut woody PG Cadjmere for another morning of outdoor play. Yesterday I played with compost, rain barrels, lawnmower, and weed torch. Today I'll play with shovel, pond liner, and carpet scraps for trail building before the weather turns cold and wet.

Shycat, I needed more than chardonnay or merlot yesterday -- could have used the muscle relaxant you mentioned. Has anyone else had an inner thigh cramp? Words cannot describe.

Quarry I do, and they are horrendous. I can’t seem to do anything to avoid them, either - I drink extra water, I sleep with the top sheet untucked, I take magnesium supplements. They come on seemingly out of nowhere and the slightest movement can trigger them. For me, they are tied with shin cramps as the worst! I hope you feel better today.

Ugh! Can you fix them by jumping up and walking on them, the way you can a calf cramp?

I used to get ferocious calf cramps at night after working long hours on my feet. I once heard an "old wives' tale" cure that if you put an unwrapped bar of soap between your bottom sheet and the mattress that it would eliminate cramps. Tried it in desperation. Of course it did nothing.

Catching up on Friday's thread (I haven't even read Saturday's yet) and just wanted to clarify I don't think my recent cough/cold had anything to do with my vaccine. It was just a regular cold/flu that was gong around. Early this week my doctor prescribed Claritin-D and wow what a difference, I finally stopped the non-stop post-nasal drip coughing.

I also got my 2nd vaccine shot Friday! No side effects at all. Yay for me!

For the Friday sync I wore two (2) scents that I love but I do not like the packaging: Bang by Marc Jacobs and Cumming by Alan Cumming.

    Rynegne - Happy (Belated) Birthday!

foxbins - Aloha from Miami to Hawaii! The temps here are in the high 80's so we both are sweatin' our way through April!

khanada - welcome back and hang in there w the meds and the job. I, too, have always wanted to work in a library.

Today I am drenched in sweat from going to Cross Fit and then picked up a framed photograph that a friend bought me as a housewarming present (I'll post a pic of it when I can) and then I had to cancel lunch plans with my aunt, Giancarlo and I as Giancarlo's not feeling good (nausea, diarrhea) - and I don't want to invite her over to see the apartment until he's back to normal. I might go to South Beach with friends who are in town from NYC but I keep thinking about the insane traffic getting there...not looking forward to that. But it looks like it will be a beautiful beach day.

I only wore some Tam Dao Body Lotion to CF and a tiny swipe of this attar which has insane longevity:

I'm debating what perfume to take along for a 36-hour stay in the hospital when I go in for a surgical procedure tomorrow morning (at 5 a.m.! Why do they do that?!?). I'm thinking a vetiver, but not a spiky, invigorating one, something calmer... maybe Encre Noir a L'Extreme.

But the bigger question is whether to wear any fragrance before surgery? The instructions say no makeup and no jewelry, but nothing about perfume. So maybe a light J.C. Ellena scent? One of the Jardin series, or Osmanthe Yunnan?

I have a set of Jardin travellers, so I'll experiment right now: Sur Le Nil on one arm, Sur Le Toit on the other. We'll see if one wins.

Cook.bot, l don't see anything wrong with a little fragrance pre-surgery, if it helps you feel better. Good luck with your procedure!

l sometimes get calf cramps at night, usually if l've been stretching too much. l find pressing my heel down on the floor helps to relieve them.

lf l hadn't become a nurse, l think l'd have liked to work in a library.

Yes! I had inner thigh cramps / strain years ago. It was the worst. I just had to ride it out. Popped all sorts of OTC drugs. Nothing helped - just time.

I was asked to Not wear perfume, before my hysterectomy surgery. Maybe it depends on the hospital / doctor.
