I could not decide between Santal by Fragonard (a calming sandalwood scent) and Fleur de Peau by Diptyque (a rose and iris musk scent) so I spritzed on both scents.

    Wishing everyone a good Sunday!

Morning all, & congrats caz on your milestone!

Thanks to those who asked after my MIL! She seems to be doing mostly ok, with the odd bad day thrown in. lt turns out her main issue seems to be trigeminal neuralgia, a horribly painful condition for which she'd been prescribed Gabapentin, & was seemingly taking too much. She has carers going in now to give her meds each day, but the pain is not always under control, poor thing...

l'm wearing Seville a l'Aube for another early shift.

Thank you, tdem and HoP. Other than an email to my late friend's husband, I have only posted it to Basenotes, because, well, all of you

Oh, teardrop, I hope you MIL's tic doloreux resolves. Gapapentin can wallop a person. I was given it years ago for a nerve injury and was so loopy I worried I would fall asleep in a crosswalk. At work I knew how many steps from the restroom to my desk so I could walk with my eyes closed.

I live in a small inner-ring burb nearCleveland's University Circle. It has gotten more neighborly since the pandemic, what with more people taking walks. I'm about to head over to a pop-up coffee shop, housed in a winsome, curvy, vintage camper trailer, for a cappucino and hellos all around. The young couple that came up with this has been operating on non-winter Saturday/Sunday mornings for about two years. SOTD is spring-y easy to wear Atelier Cologne Jasmin Angélique.

    A pleasant day to all.

I'm wearing Le Lion de Chanel today.

Jujy is making me want to visit Cleveland. I'm itching to visit the Midwest anyways. Road trip!

My blueberry pie turned out nice yesterday. One side of the crust puffed way up so it has a rather rustic appearance. I must have created an air pocket when crimping the edges. Today for brunch we're having Spanish sausage, chunky air fried potatoes, eggs, pancakes, Sangria, and pie for dessert.

It has been snowing/raining the whole week after last weekend's sun and warmth, and today it's snowing especially beautifully. Looks like Christmas outside. I was planning to go for a walk, but not sure right now. Hopefully we get more springlike weather next week.

I'm wearing Bois d'Iris by Van Cleef & Arpels today and contemplating my evening scent. Might be Bottega Veneta, might be Mon Guerlain, might be John Galliano, might be something else entirely. I can still smell the incensy drydown of Bois d'Iris so I still have plenty of time to decide.
I have some work to do to catch up with things I wasn't able to do through the week. Considering procrastinating by making a pot of chili or going for a walk in the snow.

teardrop, I'm also wishing your MIL gets better. Her situation sounds painful.

Thanks for the kind words, it’s great to be part of this BN community! Today is extra special because after 15 dreary days of quarantine we are free!!! Just took the puppy for a walk, despite the drizzle we had a great time. Wearing PHI Rose de Kandahar to celebrate.

Healing vibes for your MIL teardrop!

TribyLark, Cleveland is an amazing cultural capital. I am minutes away from both one of the world's greatest orchestras and a national park. Our art museum is world class, too. Lately, a lot of attention has been toward the industrial Flats along the Cuyahoga River, where multipurpose trails juxtapose nature and our industrial history. Freighters pass by noiselessly, like sideways skyscrapers, prompting the gulls to rise up and swirl in a snow globe effect. Oh, and the lake! You are welcome to visit!

Just finished my Zoom tango lesson, in Magie Noire, and lipstick. Kinda sick of cooking, so my son and I will grab a bite and motor aimlessly. I hate driving when I actually have to be somewhere, but I love joyriding. Go figure.

    Afternoon all,

Just a quick post, for now. Teardrop, very sorry to hear your mil is having nerve pain. My bf and his brother both have had good luck with gabapentin, but I think somehow it works differently for men, than for women, as the only other people I know who have gotten good results from it are men. It made me feel terrible, and was not for my mother, either. I’m not a neurologist, this is all anecdote, just weird coincidence, maybe.

I wanted to report that I got my vintage Mary Chess Carnation (no idea how to date it—must post later, with the vintage folks, about this). It is in excellent condition, and it smells like heaven—better than I hoped. It is a gorgeous and very fresh carnation with an oakmoss and incense drydown that is still going strong two days later. My favorite lounge shirt smells so good that I don’t want to wash it, though I probably should, after today. I suppose I should upload an image too.
