    Happy Sunday.

I am wearing one of my favourites, since
it is still quite cold here today and it is a warming,
rich oriental. Christine Nagel does this genre
    so well.

Thumbs up Re: SOTD: Sunday, 2nd May, 2021

Have I told you about the scent of jasmine? Have I spoken about the smell of the sea? The earth is scented. And I perfume myself to enhance what I am. That's why I can not wear a perfume that bothers me. Perfuming is an instinctive wisdom. And like all art, it requires some knowledge of yourself..."

Freewheelingvagabond treats a headache with cake. Sounds like a Mary Poppins treatment.
Loved yesterday's postcard picture from Jon and today's, too.
Crazy weather here. High of 81°F/27°C today, still near freezing at night. Wildly windy. Rarely any rain. My gargoyle's getting thirsty.
Will switch things up by dabbing on some 4711 for a morning outside.

    Afternoon all!

l have a couple of days off, we're watching the Old Firm game, & then l'll be off to the pub with Mr teardrop for the first time in at least six months. lt's time to dip my toe in the social waters, although l'll need to wrap up warm as we can only sit outside at the moment. l'm wearing Ashoka for the occasion.

Hello and best to everyone. Congratulations on the new car, Trilby!
Teardrop, enjoy your outing. We are similarly venturing out, slowly and with caution. I plan to meet two work colleagues for dinner one evening this week, and I’m by turns excited and anxious.

SOTD is Aqua Allegoria Ylang & Vanille. Take care, all.

    He certainly did, Jon!

Thanks, tdem! We met up with Mr teardrop's best mate, & had a lovely couple of hours in the sunshine before the clouds & rain arrived, & lots of giggles. lt was good to get out there again, & it all felt pretty safe.

I'm testing Diptyque Kimonanthe today, from the sample that Phleg passed along when she bought her FB.

I can tell there's a lot of beauty lurking underneath (incuding my favorite apricotty osmanthus), if this huge camphor note would just step aside for a moment....

I just spent about an hour reading through the last 10 days of SOTD posts + catching up. New car for Trilby. New 'gorgoyle thingy' for Quarry. New shed for foxbins. Freewheeling moved. ComDiva took a buy out. Lions, tigers + bears...oh my, as they say.

Well I have some news for you also: Remember my new Manager that I posted about that started in December (in the position that I applied for, but didn't get)? Well things have not improved. Last week he resigned. It's a mixture of excitement (thank goodness we can move on + get someone in who's competent) and anger (I just trained this dude, one on one, for hours and hours for absolutely nothing because he's leaving g*ddamnit). Anyway I'm practicing acceptance about it and next week the whole team will hear the news (we used to be a team of 6 - now my team is 15 strong...with no manager...except me an "Associate Manager"...ack!). Plus my company acquired a Real Estate firm with 5 locations, +250 agents and +700 listing/transactions that came over to our company - this is Week Three of their integration. I've worked most nights late and some weekends. In addition the company is rolling out new Transaction Software (for Agents and for our team) and Florida is the beta test market. Wheee!!! So...lots happening on the work side of my life.

In non-work my apartment is coming together nicely. I am eating very well. I am exercising more than regular (every other day I run a mile in my new 'hood) so I'm happy with how I look and my weight/energy. I get some lab blood work this week for some auto-immune stuff that might be related to my shingles outbreak...let's see what my doctor says. If a specialist weighs in I might be able to get a shingles vaccine (to stop recurring symptoms) before I turn 60 years old. ((fingers crossed))

Scent wise I wore a BIG floral on Friday, from a sample: Ubar (the feminine) by Amouage. Wow. That one is strong. No f*ckin around. I loved it. And I wore Poison Esprit de Parfum by Dior also. Been wearing lots of old Areej le Dores's also - last night I went dancing in a cloud of Feel Oud chinese oud. Smelled so good. I wore SantL by Madhat one day, all day - it's soooo good. Just broke out this one, my first warm weather wearing of it since 2020:

    Mugler Cologne by Thierry Mugler

As soon as I walked out into the sidewalk bees came over to smell me. This stuff is like a portable flower-garden. I love it + to think I found this bottle (no box-Tester) in Tampa, FL for like $9)
