Default Has anyone else tried 2020-2021 batches of Guerlain Classics?

Not to cause mass hysteria but I received a 8/20 batch of Guerlain Heritage Eau De Parfum and the performance is underwhelming after 2+ hours. I recall Heritage Eau De Parfum being a lot stronger a few years back with no need for overspraying my 4 sprays last night were loud in the beginning but after 2 hours it was very close to the skin. I’ve worn 2018 batches of Heritage EDT and it wore loudly for the whole day with 4 sprays. I hope there wasn’t a recent reformulation of the classic Guerlain fragrances, has anyone else tested the most recent batches or heard about a recent change with them?

Did you just open that bottle or have you let it macerate a bit? These days, I try not to make performance judgment till it's had a few weeks to sit after spraying.

Yes it’s a newer bottle freshly opened, do you feel it will improve and it’s just because it’s 8 months old? I’ve never had a fresh Guerlain bottle just sprayed in the past act this way.

Just from my experience, yeah, I would wait a bit. The mixing of the air into the bottle seems to do wonders or it could just be me getting used to the fragrance. Either way, it's an improvement for me. It would be interesting how it turns out for you after a few weeks.

I'd do another day's wearing to get more sprays in then put it away and test again after a few weeks.

Oh, and I did notice you were comparing to the EDT as well. I think you know this already, but the EDT is definitely more airy and projects more. The EDP definitely sits closer to the skin, but still has good early projection. To me, the EDP is also a bit more animalic.

Personally haven't noticed any difference in performance with the newer ones.

I have a 2018 EDT bottle: on my skin, projection is soft to moderate, and longevity is 4-5 hours, at most. You must have a great skin!

This is also my experience. I have the 2020 Héritage EdT as well as the gold cap Guerlain insignia vintage. The 2020 seemed to be pretty fleeting at first, but after some weeks, it got really strong, as in: more than a just somehow noticeable difference. It wears very dense now. I love both.

My 2018 Héritage EDT lasted me all day, too. I found it very strong.

In order to refresh my memory, I sprayed it once on my arm yesterday (7 hours ago), and it's still clearly present as a skin scent, so I will have to take back my words. But it terms of projection, I sadly have to confirm that it is moderate, at best, on my skin.

That said, although the bottle was sealed and the box in good condition, I got it from an obscure online store, so it is not to exclude that the juice could have suffered from sub-optimal storage conditions that might have impacted its performance.

Excellent to hear I’m gonna give it time probably just so fresh that it’s still macerating!

Might have at most tested part of the Guerlain Homme and l'Instant ranges as recent as from 2020-2021, mostly the ones with standardized new (er) bottle/box design, luckily without detecting much if any change of both actual scent and the performance gotten/yielded
