If I buy any advertised perfume it’s likely in spite of the ads, not because of them. Most ads today use celebrities I don’t identify with. Plus, another person between me and a perfume is like a kind if static.

There was one ad I loved—don’t ask me why—and I was going to buy the perfume. But when I asked the SA what were the notes she said, “Fruity, fruity and fruity,” so I passed. Ad is this one:

"It was foolish of her not to have bought a larger bottle."

No, but it does work the other way. For decades I shunned Chanel's Egoiste because of the insanely stupid commercial when they started marketing it.

Ads never influence me to make a purchase.

I enjoy the BS stories. For me, fragrance is participatory performance art. Rocky Odor Picture Show. I get into it. I try to make the blind buys count, but I will buy in when the logic, the experience, the hype, and the love are all on the same train. Great perfumer makes an affordable scent up my alley for a great house that I own, and I get early access, I will buy.
