    Default Chamade current vs vintage

    Hello, new person here *waves*

I'd really appreciate your expert views on Chamade. My intention is not to start another "vintage is great and the current version is shit" thread... but simply to understand Chamade a bit better. I have the current bee bottle EDT. I like it a lot. I love its green, slightly bitter opening and the soft ambery drydown. It's a lovely, happy and uplifting smell. I wish it was stronger though.

So my question is, is vintage Chamade essentially "the same but more so"? Or is it a different scent? If so in what respects? Should I investigate vintage EDT or parfum first? What year would be recommended in terms of EDT for example, is 90s ok?
    Thanks in advance

You are speaking about the female version, correct? By the way, welcome to you! Enjoy your time here at Basenotes!

The vintage parfum is really gorgeous, with two, almost separate parts: a snappy, tart green opening that melts into a soft and amberish Guerlain dry down that goes on and on.

    Hi Schubertian—

    Welcome to the forum!

I would definitely say that vintage Chamade will be the “same, but more so.” The vintage parfum is very beautiful, as Starblind has already said, but you could also consider the vintage parfum de toilette, which has a very long lasting amber-y drydown, the vintage EDT, or even the vintage EDC, which will probably still feel more potent than your current EDT, All of the vintage formulations are recognizably Chamade, just different intensities. I think the vintage PDT might be my favorite, but I like them all.

Looking for bottles produced between 1970-1990’s would be a safe approach. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Hey, I confess I had no idea there was a male Chamade...! But yes, the female version is what I'm after. Edited to add: this was in reply to hednic. And thanks!

Oh thanks, Grayspoole! That's exactly the kind of info I was after. Chamade is a kind of recent (late) discovery for me. Will definitely report back as and when I get some vintage...
