    Default Gourmand Pancakes

    Hi -

I just realized that my wardrobe is missing a proper gourmand. Sure, I’ve gat some sweet fragrances and very high quality amber fragrances, but none of them give me the gourmand, foody scent that I am looking for. Anyone can recommend a good Gourmand that smells like pancakes other than New Haarlem? I see tsvga’s Myrrdher looks people interpret it as smelling like pancakes, fro, the few reviews I have seen online. If anyone has tried that scent then do let me know what you think of that one too. Thanks

Lutens Jeux de peau is one of my favorite gourmands. It has been described as buttered toast with maple syrup. Not exactly pancakes, but the maple syrup is there. (Maple syrup being immortelle in perfumery). It doesn't have the coffee or the fresh part of New Haarlem, but goes straight to the sweet gourmand part.

I have not tried the Tsvga.

    Tihota smells like fresh crepes.
All the perfumes of Arabia will not sweeten this little hand.

Givenchy's Immortelle Tribal has a maple syrup smell to it (probably from the immortelle) which reminds me of pancakes.
If you can smell me you're too close.
Scent is an exercise in patience and imagination.

Yes, I do also. It has quite a dessert smell.

IMO - Malle Dries Van Noten has the sort of vibe you are describing + sandalwood.

Whiff of Waffle Cone by Imaginary Authors.

Smells just like a waffle cone you would get at an ice cream parlor with a gourmand vanilla cake vibe. Not exactly the same as pancakes with maple syrup, but very close.

Maybe also Sculpture by Nikos and Rochas Man among the affordable, Siwa by Memo Paris, J'Ose by Memo Paris, even several hints within scents from the TF niche/exclusive line including Tobacco Vanille, as well as Guerlain LIDGE, most scents within Jaipur range by Boucheron among the pricier ones

Crepes would be a first for Tihota. For me Tihota I could see it as foodie especially the original 2006 release, instead of cake it reminded me of vanilla ice cream.

Yes, agreed. I don’t get any male syrup out of Sables as well. It smells more atmospheric than gourmand. Stunning scent though.

Annick Goutal Sables is totally fenugreek cooking to me, which is the immortelle that is also interpreted as maple syrup. Worth a sniff to see how it will smell to you.

Lignum Vitae by Beaufort. Smell of freshly baked vanilla cookies. Very well done, and very unisex.

If you like gourmand with a hint of rum, you might want the cheap Bentley for Men Intense. I never recommend it, because I think that it's a total failure if seen as a boozy or leather fragrance, but if synthetic vanilla is your thing, well, it does the job as a gourmand.
