Thumbs up Re: SOTD: Wednesday, 9th June, 2021

Have I told you about the scent of jasmine? Have I spoken about the smell of the sea? The earth is scented. And I perfume myself to enhance what I am. That's why I can not wear a perfume that bothers me. Perfuming is an instinctive wisdom. And like all art, it requires some knowledge of yourself..."

    Hello everyone.

At last, after weeks of swapping and changing our minds,
we have decided not to go tho France this month. I don't think
we would be exactly welcomed with open arms (given the rise of the
Indian/Delta variant) and there are so many hoops to jump through this
time that we just feel it would be better to stay at home. Our apartment is
in good hands - we have a property manager - so we shall just have to wait
it out until things are safer. There are far greater problems people have had to
to have to cope with than this, I am well aware, and at least we have managed
to avoid getting Covid so far.

I am wearing Idylle and a relieved smile.

After a foggy start, it's brightened up nicely here. l'm wearing Montale's Orange Flowers for my late shift.

Hello and best to everyone. Thank you for all the lovely birthday wishes - I had a great time celebrating. Highlights included Sunday brunch with a Beatles tribute band, last night Mexican takeout, champagne, and a big birthday cake. My husband’s gift to me is a trip to an undisclosed spot somewhere along America’s Route 60, in deference to the milestone birthday in question.

Happy BNiversary, dear Jujy - I say treat yourself to something for the occasion!

SOTD is Prada Infusion de Fleurs d’Oranger. Thanks again, everyone and be well. Xo

    Good morning!
I've been a little mad at myself for being a layabout, and a layabout with an all-too-handy tablet that is my "cigarette", so I'm journaling my day as I go. Much like food journaling, which I have done, to write down is to pass little judgments, "do you want this on the record? 45 minutes of word games?" The goal is to get things done, but also to enjoy my downtime which seems more like being idled in traffic than a sweet dolce far niente break.

I have jazz on my playlist and L'Occitane L'Arlésienne on me!

    A pleasant day to all.

ps—@tdem, yes will treat myself. I think I will go local, to Cleveland's own Indigo Perfumery, which has a good niche selection. They don't carry Zoologist, alas. OK, local + Zoologist by mail order. That should work!

4th day in Le Parfum de Therese. Today, we're travelling through the deserts and mesas to Monument Valley. We have reservations at the historic Gouldings Lodge but the Navajos have closed Monument Park. We'll see. It might actually be nicer to view the monumental rock formations from afar without the usual million cars driving all around.

Kewart, you made the right choice and there's always next time. The trip I'm on now was postponed for a year and Covid restrictions are still impacting what's accessible.

Have always wanted to see Monument Valley. Maybe 30 years ago, it would have been nice. I detest crowds...

Have a healthy, pretty smelling and as good as possible year

Trilby, your trip sounds great. Have fun and enjoy yourselves!

Quarry, I enjoyed your Quarry School photos so much! Thank you for sharing them. I feel like I have visited it now.
My favourite was the Fake Lake, of course! It's amazing.

I'm wearing Mugler's Aura today. I remember I really, really disliked it when I first tried it, but I retried it after a few years and found that I actually really enjoy this quirky weirdo of a scent. And I found a gift set for a very good price, so yay

Second day in Dior Addict EdT, nosed by Thierry Wasser

At a snail's pace, I am packing, preparing, and plodding along to close up the AZ house for the summer. Got a lot done in de-hoarding my folks house this trip and even spent two weeks in heavenly Sedona. But I can't wait to feel a California ocean breeze again and be back home.

Greetings fellow Ohioan?! I love Indigo! They used to carry Zoologist but stopped, I'm not sure why. Check out CurioNoir while you are there, a really unique and intoxicating brand that is new to the states. They are my latest find from Indigo, as well as Maison Sybarite that does water-based fragrances with impressive lasting power. If you like rose, their Bed of Roses is a must try.

Good to see everyone on the thread today! I am wearing Sycomore from a mini I thought I had lost but recently recovered while moving my collection, huzzah!

Got a haircut, quite overdue, and went spiky with long bangs. My hairdresser noticed my SOTD, L'Occitane L'Arlésienne and just loved it. I'm going to prepare her a decant. Unmasked, we can smell—and be smelled—once again! Hooray!

@Janjanjan hi, fellow Ohioan! re: Indigo/Zoologist, they told it it wasn't selling well, "too unusual" were their words, iirc.

Foxbins, your lunch sounds tasty! Yum!!

Quarry. Seriously. Holy cow! You have utterly transformed the place and somehow still managed to make it clearly a restoration. Just amazing. Well done! I love the Buffoon Lagoon sign, too, you inveterate punner, you.

Like Shades (doing have some kind of mind meld going this week?), I’ve taken a break from both Serge and florals and worn Profumum Antico Caruso all day. Just re-spritzed, too. Lovely stuff.
