Thread: Lemon fragrance

    Default Lemon fragrance

Looking for a nice designer lemon fragrance but not too sharp, thank you.

Profumum Acqua Viva is the king of lemons IMO. Kinda niche though. In designer space, I would say Chanel Allure Homme Edition Blanche.

Ok it's not a designer but also not that expensive - what about Mancera Aoud Lemon Mint?

I was annoyed by Chanel AHS Edition Blanche and also by Dior Homme Cologne because of that sharp and piercing citrus notes.
But I enjoy wearing Aoud Lemon Mint, also Chanel AHS Cologne is a nice one (though it's more mandarin on top).

You found the Chanel to be sharp? I recently tried the EDP and thought it was pretty creamy. The EDT may have been more tart. It's been some years since I've owned it.

I'm not sure what you mean when saying "EdP" and "EdT".
I had Allure Homme Sport Edition Blanche and Dior Homme Cologne - and sold both because I liked Allure Homme Sport Cologne (the newer 2016 version) better than both.
I also like the original Allure Homme Sport and of course Allure Homme Sport Eau Extreme.

AHSEE and Cologne are my favorites from the line.

That's right, but that was only a change of the name.
Chanel firstly thought they can't put "parfum" on a men's fragrance because they won't buy it.
They are both the same (besides batch to batch tolerances, which are very minor with Chanel fragrances in comparison to some other brands).
(The same happend with AHSEE, which also was labeled as "concentree" earlier)

EDT Cologne Concentree was one of the best in this genre. Dior Homme Sport 2008 formulation was also really good.

Eau de Guerlain is, so far, the best lemon I've ever smelled in a perfume. Bonus points for being mainstream, easily sourced, and relatively inexpensive online.

Six excellent suggestions, and I would add:

ELdO - Je Suis Un Homme
    Lorenzo Villoresi - Uomo
    Loewe - Pour Homme
    MPG - Grain de Plaisir
    Givenchy - Monsieur de Givenchy
    Penhaligon's - Douro
    Gres - Homme de Gres
Hermes - Eau de Cologne (aka Eau d'Orange Verte)
Hermes - Eau de Citron Noir
    Chanel - Eau de Cologne
    Chanel - Pour Monsieur

Several have cited Chanel Allure Homme Edition Blanche... I wouldn't recommend that one, unless one is really into a creamy sweet vanillic base. More of a sweet vanilla-centric fragrance with noticeable lemon, than the opposite.
If so, in that same category there's also TdC Bergamote and Heeley Oranges and Lemons, but again, that musky sweet base makes these 3 very unisex, if not feminine to my nose.

I find the lemon note in Lanvin L’Homme Sport both realistic and durable, buy it’s never too sharp due to the herbaceous notes and the rounded base.

    Current Favorites:
Guerlain Vetiver, Missoni Parfum Pour Homme, Prada Amber Pour Homme Intense, Lalique Pour Homme EDP, Cartier Declaration
Currently wearing: Cedrat Boise by Mancera

I love Monsieur Balmain as well, but finding it at a reasonable price may be challenging.

I’d suggest Lemon Line by Mancera or Eau du Sud by Goutal from an online discounter. These will cost you what a designer would at full retail or a pinch less.

Profumum Acqua Viva was suggested, and though great, the price tag is a far cry from that of a designer.
I have found the paradox, that if you love until it hurts, there can be no more hurt, only more love.
