Default Most worn in July 2021

Hello, fellow nerdettes and nerds! July is coming to an end, and it's time for stats.

    Mine look like this:

4 Eau de Camille, Palais Jamais, Shaal Nur
3 Amazone, Calamus, Eau de Fleurs de Cédrat, Mint
2 Caligna, Folavril, Harmatan Noir, Lily, Paloma y Raíces, Tea

It has been an unusually warm weather, and it shows: lots of greens, citruses, teas, and soapy or fruity jasmines.

What did you wear in July?

Your most worn (in the last month)

TodayIn the Last WeekIn the Last MonthIn the Last YearAll Time

1 Aqua Allegoria Mandarine Basilic by Guerlain 13 wears
2 Cheap and Chic I Love Love by Moschino 7 wears
3 Concentré de Pamplemousse Rose by Hermès 6 wears
4 Les Amoureux de Peynet by Molinard 6 wears
5 Dolce & Gabbana pour Femme (new) by Dolce & Gabbana 4 wears
6 Aqua Allegoria Ginger Piccante by Guerlain 3 wears
7 Alaïa by Azzedine Alaïa 3 wears
8 Aqua Allegoria Limon Verde by Guerlain 3 wears
9 Bohémiens en Voyage by Alkemia Apothecary and Perfumery 3 wears
10 Classique Eau Fraîche by Jean Paul Gaultier 2 wears
11 Lolita Lempicka by Lolita Lempicka 2 wears
aaaand the Lolita Lempicka is actually Lolita Lempicka Mon Premier which is a slightly updated version of the original - when it was added to directory I had too many logged wears under my belt to want to switch to the right option. And it's actually 3 wears as I'm going to top it up in the evening, but I'm posting my stats a bit early

    2 wears:
Classique eau fraiche (in the picture)
    Le Roy Soleil
    Shalimar Cologne
    Citrus Noir
    Serpentine
    Eau du Coq

    1 wear or testing:
Aqua Allegoria Granada Salvia, Aqua Allegoria Coconut Fizz, Aqua Allegoria Herba Fresca, For Her L'Absolu, For Her Musc Noir, R.E.M., Après L'Ondée, Mugler Secret, Zen, Twilight (SJP), Coco EDT, Aura EDP, La Nuit Trésor Musc Diamant, La Nuit Trésor Nude, Libre Intense, Timbuktu, La Petite Robe Noire Eau Fraîche, Poison Girl Unexpected, Hypnotic Poison, Diorissimo, Shalimar Souffle de Lumière, Escape, Coach Floral Blush, A Drop d’Issey, Sunrise in Cadaquès, Orchid Leather, Mémoire d'une Odeur, Armani Lei..., LouLou, Angel Muse EDT.

This was the month of citruses for me for sure - with a light undertone of vetiver/greenery and light and airy enough summery gourmands when the weather was less scorching.
It was also my holiday month, and while traveling I took with me my travel sizes of Mandarine Basilic and D&G pour femme together with a sample of Concentré de Pamplemousse Rose which was happily finished along the way.

It was a good month, and my stats through the years fully show that it's just right to dedicate more than half of my wardrobe to citruses, colognes and summery scents as it's basically all I wear from May to September, and I also like to spritz them in the deep of the winter from time to time, too.
I adore my heavier scents too, but I seem to be more seasonal about them. My actual wardrobe has more cool weather scents which should make sense in theory as our summer is short and we have 9 months of cool/cold weather here, but hey.

July was in many ways a difficult and emotional month. I still wore fragrances that felt comforting to me. July was also a month I went on holiday with warm and sunny weather. Back home it was cloudy, rainy and 10 degrees. So my numbers for July looks like this :

Sycomore edp (my Bergen trip scent)

    4x
Shams oud (one out of two scents brought to my Mom)
    Santal carmin

    3x
OJ Champaca (2nd holiday scent at my Mom)
    Datura noir

    2x
    Santal blanc
    Elixir des merveilles
    Dzing!

1x: Gabrielle, Escale a Portofino, Bois d'encens, Santal de mysore, Cristalle, Contradiction, Chypre Siam.

No repeats this month as best as I can recall.

Total worn: 33. House(s) of the month: a 6-way tie between CSP, Lauder, Goutal, Creed, Neil Morris & Sarah Baker (thanks to sampling).

l own way more summer fragrances than autumn/winter ones, despite our relatively short summer season here, so l had to get as many in as possible during our recent heatwave. l'm just a sucker for those tropical florals & beachy scents, as well as fig & the odd citrus-aromatic.

Lot's of Eaux, Kotori, must be summer! I have worn a lot of lily this month, burning through a decant of both Lys 42 and Lys Mediterranee. I even bought a bottle of the latter, which I am wearing now while vacationing at the Mediterranean, how appropriate.

Black Orchid, Yatagan, and Noir de Noir.

Noir de Noir is so disappointing when I get to know it. On the surface it should be wonderful, but it falls apart upon inspection. You're presented with the idea of a rose patchouli modern chypre creation which are honestly a dime a dozen. The chocolate aspect is interesting, and there's supposed to be moss. The rose is just never fully realized, as if Tom Ford didn't want to bring associations of "old lady" perfumes, but in doing so you only get something you know is supposed to represent rose, but never the actual rose. In the dry down you're desperately grasping at the mossy chypre element, and it's almost there, but it's so ephemeral it's just frustrating. You get more a musk/civet/vanilla, which at first glance sounds interesting, until you realize no one ever mentions civet in conjunction with Noir de Noir, and that's because this musk is too tame to be of any real interest. I start out giving Noir de Noir a 4 star thinking it to be the best of the current line up, but ended up with just three stars. I think if someone took the idea of Noir de Noir, and then gave it that umph it needed to be special, they'd have a hit on their hands.

Black Orchid on the other hand just gets better and better. Yatagan is sooo musky it's great in the heat.
